Ireland’s National Children’s Hospital brings three hospitals together on one campus in Rialto, Dublin – 6,500 rooms, 22 operating theatres, and more than 100 subcontractors. BAM Ireland built it on Autodesk’s cloud platform, from the early days of BIM 360 through to Autodesk Construction Cloud and Tandem. Autodesk wanted a film to celebrate the partnership. And it needed a presentable cut less than a fortnight after the shoot, ready for a Partnership Celebration with BAM.

Six days in Dublin
We built the story around three ideas – Project, Partnership, and Purpose. The hospital as a digital exemplar. The working relationship between BAM and Autodesk. And what it all delivers for the children of Ireland.
Our crew spent six days on site across two shoots in May 2025. Phase one – three days – included a location scout, drone flight, and a walk-and-talk around the facility. Critical interviews were also conducted during this phase, ensuring that there would be enough material to start editing the final film. We shot interviews in the early afternoon to control the light and used the mornings to set up.
The look was warm and welcoming – a teal-orange palette, practical lights, and depth in every frame. This building will save lives, and the film needed to feel like it.
Our second phase of three shoot days covered pick up interviews for stakeholders who couldn't make the first visit. We also took the opportunity to record additional B roll and conduct a second drone flight.
A rough cut in eleven days
We delivered the rough cut on 19 May, the day before Autodesk's event with BAM. Rogier van Nalta at Autodesk told us simply that “It gets better the more I watch it.”
After the event, we added ACC and Tandem screen recordings supplied by BAM, timing each one to the moment that product comes up in the interviews. Autodesk signed off the final cut in August 2025 and ran it in a month-long LinkedIn campaign.
The film opened the door to more content, using the extensive footage we filmed to create individual pieces for interviewees and a trailer video. And the source material is still being used. Six days of filming, still producing assets nearly a year later.
